Company history

Dr. Becky Elfers graduated from Washington State University, College
of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. Becky and her husband Brian purchased Colfax Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Richard Long in July 1983 and operated as a full service, small animal clinic for 18 years.
In 2001, Dr. Elfers decided to downsize and specialize in feline medicine.  The name was changed to Colfax Cat Clinic and the schedule changed to part time, allowing Dr. Elfers time to pursue other interests. In May 2006 she received her teaching certificate and currently works as a substitute highschool teacher.  Her favorite moments are when students get excited to learn because they see how a lesson connects to real life.  Basic veterinary services are provided (well pet exams, vaccinations, spays and neuters) while more complicated cases are referred.

Family
The Elfers family lives behind the veterinary clinic.  They all share in the work of animal care and keeping the business running.
Becky's husband, Brian, is a WSU graduate, charter pilot and aircraft mechanic.  He flies for the Forest Service, tracks wildlife for Fish and Game biologists and works on airplanes at Interstate Aviation in Pullman.
Daniel, their oldest son, recently completed a multimedia computer science degree at Columbia Basin College.  He is working as a fitness instructor at Gold's Gym in TriCities.
Jackson is a high school sophomore.  He enjoys running cross country and track, snow boarding, and remote control airplanes. Our family pets include Taco, our oversized chihuahua, three rescued stray cats, two cockatiels and a parakeet!
The Elfers enjoy snow skiing, boating, bike rides, church activities and books or movies by the fireplace, with popcorn.
